At Italian Citizenship Assistance one of our missions is to provide potential applicants with in-depth information about the eligibility criteria to apply for Italian citizenship, the different pathways one can pursue in order to apply, and the application process to be granted citizenship. In addition to our online library which comprises dozens of articles about our free initial assessment services, the packages we offer, the dates and the scenarios to consider when applying for Italian citizenship, we also offer a popular podcast. The aim is to provide people with as much information as possible regarding the process of applying for citizenship via a consulate, a municipality or a court in Italy.
One day, our client Kristen Helmstetter’s husband heard about the possibility of obtaining dual citizenship for Americans with ancestral ties to Italy on a podcast, and this led Kristen to explore the possibility of applying for dual citizenship. While researching the topic, Kristen came across ICA and decided to embark on an exciting journey towards reconnecting with her Italian roots.
As Kristen states: “we decided to gather documents on our own, and then we took them to Italy to work with ICA and obtain citizenship “in country” for quicker results, and because it would mean we’d get to be in Italy!
From the moment we first connected online with Marco, we were treated with kindness and respect. Everything was handled in an organized and efficient way. When we arrived in Italy, my family was overjoyed with Alice, who turned out to be our assistant for scheduling government appointments, filling out paperwork, and making sure we were where we needed to be for appointments. It couldn’t have been easier, and I’m forever grateful for the ICA team. It truly is white glove service, and we felt completely taken care of.
It was a relatively quick process. We arrived in March, and the following September, my daughter and I received citizenship. We received our Italian passports shortly after. We loved meeting other people connected with ICA and going through the same process in the town of Rovigo. And speaking of Rovigo, I want to say that it’s such a nice town. My family was very comfortable there, and it had amenities (like a great gym) and nice markets and grocery stores. Pretty cobblestone streets and restaurants, too.
Our plans in the near future will be to spend part or our time in Italy and part in America. Perhaps someday, we will live in Italy full time. I am honored and excited to give this gift of dual citizenship to my young daughter. She will have it forever and have so many new opportunities and adventures. And she can pass it down to her future children as well!
Working with ICA and getting our dual citizenship is one of the best things we’ve ever done. ICA was very professional, organized, and they have continued to be helpful long after our time with them. It warms my heart whenever I think of them, as they helped us so much on such a beautiful journey”.
